These days the popular thing to do is join a gym, eat healthy (which sometimes includes healthy organic food that is costly), and to track your steps with sometimes, high cost wrist bands. Sometimes, it just costs too much for all that. Why stay fit if you can’t afford it? Don’t worry, you can afford it.
Some ways to save money and stay fit and healthy are to:
- Take a Walk or go for a Run
- Do some Housework – get your house clean, and burn some calories
- Work out with YouTube Fitness Videos
- Go online and look up some workouts, exercises
- If you have a smart phone or tablet, get an app; there are a ton of free fitness apps available (1)
Some ways to save money on food:
- Go to your local market or Amish stand, especially in the spring and summer
- Grow your own fruits and veggies
- Bulk Up on Items when they’re on sale
- Try ground turkey instead of ground beef
- Eat seafood, but try canned seafood
- Lastly eat frozen fruits and veggies, especially when they’re not in season (2)
You can also utilize your wellness portal through Personal HealthConnect. This is an easy way to manage your health, and have the ability to watch your progress.
